Blogging...

Recently watching my son interact with children that he’d just met at a playground, I began to contemplate blogging; Imagining parallels between the two worlds.

When I first entered the blogging world, it was a bit like arriving at a playground for the very first time and I was eager to enjoy the new found play equipment.
Initially I spent time navigating my way around the play equipment, as I ‘d arrived with little to no knowledge of this newfangled world, until I knew enough to engage with others.
My expectations apart from wanting to initiate interest in my blog and mastering the equipment were little to none.
I wasn’t aware before entering the world of blogging that it was going to be an intimate social experience. In fact I hadn’t considered the social experience at all.
I’m now aware that all walks of life are participating and that there’s room for everyone, social and anti social.

There are no strict rules. Only guidelines as in life and as in life there are plenty of people willing to guide you. The anti social behaviour is far and few between and is mostly based in ignorance as opposed to malice.

When you first introduce a child to a playground it’s all about the equipment and what they can do with it. Other children playing very quickly become an important feature.
Children often display the gift of making the most of the moment when they meet another child for the first time in a playground. They quickly establish common ground so that they can get on with the task at hand... playing. If time allows, on a need to know basis, they’ll share more.
Sometimes they have difficulty parting company due to circumstances beyond their control and hope to return again. At other times they just choose to play with others. Mostly no offence is taken; after all it’s a playground, a free for all.

No matter what the nature of the relationship everyone is happy to be there.

There’s always something to enjoy and learn. It’s important to find time for the things that you enjoy and benefit from. Sometimes there’s just too much fun to be had and whose to say that’s a waste of time.

I've been very busy blog hopping of late... well I've been busy with a lot of things, but when I've had computer time I've just been out and about viewing blogs. I'm not complaining as I've been having and am having a pretty good time and learning a little too, but I haven't made much time for attending to my own blog. I haven't written much of late (not that I'm a writer) and what I have written I haven't finished. So who cares you may ask? I do as it bothers me just a teeny weeny bit that it's getting more and more difficult to focus on me as there's so much out there in blogland to explore and enjoy.

*Many years ago in England , pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. 'Wet your whistle' is the phrase inspired by this practice.

This is a little cheeky...

I received this via email today.....

An American decided to write a book
about famous churches around the world. So he bought a plane ticket and took
a trip to Orlando, thinking that he would start by working his way across the USA from South to North. On his first day he was inside a church
taking photographs when he noticed a
golden telephone mounted on the wall
with a sign that read '$10,000 per call'. The American, being intrigued,
asked a priest who was strolling by what
the telephone was used for. The priest replied that it was a direct line
to heaven and that for $10,000 you could
talk to God. The American thanked the priest and
went along his way. Next stop was in Atlanta.
There, at a very large cathedral,
he saw the same golden telephone with the
same sign under it. He wondered if this was the same kind
of telephone he saw in Orlando and he
asked a nearby nun what its purpose was. She told him that it was a direct line
to heaven and that for $10,000 he
could talk to God.'O.K., thank you,' said the American. He then travelled all across America ,
Europe, England , Japan , New Zealand. In every church he saw the same
golden telephone with the same
'$US10,000 per call' sign under it. The American, decided to travel to Australia to see if Australians had the same phone. He arrived in Australia and again, in the first church he entered, there was the same golden
telephone, but this time the sign under
it read '40 cents per call.' The American was surprised so
he asked the priest about the sign.
'Father, I've travelled all over the
world and I've seen this same golden
telephone in many churches. I'm told that it is a direct line to Heaven, but in all of them price was $10,000 per call.Why is it so cheap here?' The priest smiled and answered,
'You're in Australia now, son - it's a local call'.

Why do you blog? Which blogs inspire you?

I blog for a myriad of reasons. One of them being the continual learning experience and as I've only been blogging for a short time I'm still entertained by all there is to learn. I also enjoy the creative freedom.

Connecting with people and their ideas is also a bonus of blogging.

I'm inspired by numerous blogs (which are people) and for a variety of reasons such as creativity, entertainment and education. I'm also intrigued and possibly inspired by beautiful and sometimes odd human qualities.

Tell us a personal memory that makes you smile?

I had to think long and hard about this question and I concluded that any one of my memories can be recalled with a smile as they are my version of events throughout my life. Unfortunately there are none that I care to share at this point in time. Please don't be offended by this... possibly I'm just being lazy!


What makes you laugh?

Laughter for me can arrive at any time. I don't think that there is one particular thing or event that makes me laugh. Certainly there are people in my life that provoke laughter and I love them for that. Funny makes me laugh and funny strange makes me laugh even more!


Oh yes and there are certain bodily functions that can make me laugh too!


If you had a million pounds/dollars and a private jet to take you anywhere in the world where would you go?

First up I'd take the pounds over the dollars... they're worth more!

With that amount of cash and my own jet at my disposal I would choose Spontaneity! I would gather my loved ones, which would involve a little travel and then together we would choose our destinations. I'm kind of imagining an endless supply of money!


Choose a flavour of ice cream that most fits your personality...

That would have to be Chocolate.

I've chosen Chocolate for all its attributes and faults!
