New Year?

We had fun...

and now...

What’s the coming New Year all about to you? I know I haven’t celebrated the coming of a new year in a big way for a long while. Actually I don’t think I’ve celebrated it in any way for a long while.
I have a son and no babysitters to speak of. Occasionally he has a sleepover with his Aunty and Uncle, but they are far and few between and this means that Mum and Dad’s outings without him are also far and few between.
I’m not complaining, but just understanding why I possibly don’t celebrate the New Year with a bang.

I know that a lot people commemorate with ideas or intentions for the coming year; a list of resolutions.
For no particular reason I also generally don’t do this with any great passion… but the following words have floated to mind and I feel I need to keep them close for the coming year.
This time of year offers an opportunity for reflecting and upon reflection this is my concept.

Just remember that people are mostly kind and when they're not it's because they need a little kindness themselves. Only broken people are mean.

Best wishes to you all for the coming year

and I hope to be what I want the world to be….

Three Wise Women...

What would have happened if it had been the three
Wise Woman instead of the three Wise Men?

* they would have asked for directions

* arrived on time

* help deliver the baby

* cleaned the stable

* brought practical gifts

* and made a casserole

as they left they would have said...

* "Did you see those sandals that Mary was wearing with that gown?"

* "I heard that Joseph isn't even working now."

* "That donkey that they're riding has seen better days too."

* "Virgin my *&%#! I knew her in school."

* "That baby doesn't look anything like Joseph."

* "Want to bet on how long it will take to get your casserole dish back?"

* "Did you see that drummer boy? He can beat my drum anytime!"

Angels say play...

angel made with love by my 5 year old son

According to the
'Daily Guidance from your Angels Oracle Cards'
by Doreen Virtue...

"Beloved One, it's time to set aside work for a while. Don't worry; we will oversee your responsibilities to their completion.
Playfulness, gaiety, and laughter will lift your energy so that you'll return to work with a renewed perspective and heightened energy."

"We don't stop playing because we grow old,
we grow old because we stop playing."

George Bernard Shaw

15 year old much loved hound

5yr old much loved son, helping Dad put up Christmas lights

I hope that you are able to find time to play in your day...

Jesus knows you're here...

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shone his flashlight around,
looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said,

“Jesus knows you're here.”

He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze.
When he heard nothing more, after a bit, he shook his head and continued.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard...

“Jesus is watching you.”

Freaked out, he shone his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice.
Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.

“Did you say that?” he hissed at the parrot.
“Yep”, the parrot confessed, then squawked, “I'm just trying to warn you that he is watching you.”
The burglar relaxed. “Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?”
“Moses”, replied the bird.
“Moses?” the burglar laughed. “What kind of people would name a bird Moses?”

“The same kind of people that would name a Rottweiler, Jesus.”....

Jesus!

I recieved the above via emial and it made me laugh...
hope it put a smile on your face too.

Imagine...

I like the busyness of Christmas.
As much as I feel tired right at this moment in time,
I like the busyness of Christmas.
It’s all about moments in time.
And that’s just it…
at any one time you’re just in a moment.
I hope you're creating lots of
moments of joy.

Imagine...

Here's the lyrics for those of you who are
unable to play the video.....
"Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"

Joy....

It's a beautiful time in the world for spreading joy. Well anytime is a good time, but there's something extra special about the experience of joy when it is shared upon mass...

"Joy is the highest energy of all. It's the magical sense that everything is possible. Joy
springs from appreciating the gifts within each moment. Joy allows you to attract and create your present and future moments at their highest possible levels."

the above was selected for you from Doreen Virtue's
Angels Oracle Cards

and joy is free for you and me.....

and now I would like

to introduce you to a joyful monkey...

The above picture of this very cute sock monkey,

named Sole Monkey is soon to embark on a global journey to spread joy...
He's going to share his journey with us and if you would like to know more about this magical mystery tour, then click his image and join the fun which is kindly being hosted by the delightful Sophia

best wishes for many joyful moments...

Angels...

There's often a lot of talk of Angels this time of year.
There's certainly a few around in my camp.

Do you ever refer to Oracle Cards?

I have at different times in my life. I think that they can be a useful tool.

I've recently been reminded of some that I have resting on my bookshelf and thought of you. I know that they're not every body's cup of tea, but I think that some of you may really enjoy them.

They're called 'Daily Guidance from Your Angels' and are designed by Doreen Virtue.

I've decided that I'll pull a card from the deck on a regular basis from now until Christmas and when I do I'll share it with you ~ the image along with some of the accompanying words.

today's card ...

"Beloved One, everyone is guiltless in truth, as no one can alter God's handiwork of perfection. Give us your feelings of heaviness so we can lighten your load. Give us any guilt, anger, or blame that may shroud your loving outlook. Enjoy the peace within your heart once more."

xoxo

Made me laugh...

I watched these videos whilst enjoying my morning coffee and they gave me a laugh.

I hope you're able to view them through the eyes of humour too.

No offense is intended and I would have posted one about Australia if I had have found one.

I'm sure any of us when faced with an on the spot question, anywhere in the world, can come across as not so bright and I guess some of us are just a little less informed than others.

It's a little bit of a concern that some people think that North Korea is in Australia!

Christmas memory...

I love Christmas time...

I have little to no memory of Christmas from my childhood. That's me above, but when and where I don't know. Christmas memories for me commence from about the age of twelve, strange but true. This doesn’t make me feel sad, just curious.
I recently asked my eldest sibling what we did in our family to celebrate Christmas, as they were a teenager when I arrived on the scene.
According to their memory we didn’t have a Christmas tree. We met with Father Christmas at the community Christmas tree and received a gift which they assume our parents supplied. We had a special family dinner with immediate family. Our Grandparents and extended family did not join us.

I figure that these family occasions were possibly difficult for my beautiful Mother as she spent a large portion of her childhood in an orphanage and her teenage years in boarding school.
She never spoke of her childhood memory of Christmas and I never asked.
Mostly my Christmas memories stem from the pleasure created by my two siblings when they began their own families. The absolute joy of Christmas time was accentuated due to the presence of their children.
I’m very grateful for those early years spent with my nieces and nephews. As they came into the world I truly began to appreciate the pleasure of giving.

There are two Christmas trees that really stand out in my mind and one of them being your family tree Tracy.
I’m very grateful to you and your family for always being open to having me in their life.

Memory is reinforced by story telling and visual imagery. There is little to nothing of that for me from my childhood, but I do have a wonderful imagination and I know that I was loved.
I love Christmas time because I choose to
… and I have a son whom I love creating joyful memories with.

I wish for the festive season to touch your heart in a kind way, no matter who you are or where you live.

Learn and Share...

This is the official website address for World AIDS Day where you can begin to educate yourself about HIV/AIDS,
a global disease...http://www.worldaidsday.org/

The below illustration was created to share by

The Boomer Muse to encourage us to imagine an AIDS free world.

The Boomer Muse accompanied this image with a quote from Ken Wilber that I feel is well worth repeating...

"If a culture treats a particular illness with compassion and enlightened understanding, then sickness can be seen as a challenge, as a healing crisis and opportunity. Being sick is then not a condemnation or a moral judgement, but a movement in a larger process of healing and restoration. When sickness is viewed positively and in supportive terms, then illness has a much better chance to heal, with the concomitant result that the entire person may grow and be enriched in the process"
~ Ken Wilber
